Hi Robert, I took my car to The Model Garage on May 7th thinking I needed brakes pads and rotors on the Rear according to Big-O- Tires when got new Tires on my car last August. However, Doreen and Felix told me they were going check my brakes to see if I needed brakes done. Turns out I didn’t need brakes replacement on Rear, the brakes on Rear has around 5 meters left, I think that’s what it’s called, and I will not need rear brakes for a while. They explained, I will need brakes in the front, they are at 2 meters, and recommended that I can have done now or wait until it gets down to 1 meter and have done. I was also told there were other concerns going on with my car that I should keep in mind going forward. I plan on having the brakes down real soon before end of month. I highly recommend taking your Lexus or other foreign car to The Model Garage in Berkeley, they are very friendly and honest mechanic shop that will not fix something on your car that is not needed, they check your car out first and let you know if needed or not. I recently had my catalytic converter stolen from my 2008 Prius, and this time I had the cat plate installed and in place when it was stolen. Having moved to a new apartment with no garage space I was thinking I would have to let the Prius go and get a non-target car. The talented and creative service writers and mechanics at Model Garage thought of additional counter measures to the cat plate to foil or delay thieves the next time. So far so good! It’s rare to find a place that’s willing to bring creativity in addition to technical excellence to auto repair. I’m so grateful I found these folks! I’ve been coming here since 2012 and I’m never disappointed.

This is the second time I’ve used the model garage. The first time was to install a cat shield on my Prius and I am confident that that save me thousands of dollars as almost all my neighbors had theirs stolen. Recently, my car was due for its 100,000 mile check up. The same service at the dealership would be $2000. The model garage did the work at a price way below this. I would highly recommend you bring your Toyota here they are fair, responsive, and do great work

Model Garage has been servicing my cars for over 30 years. Every person there is first class customer service. My recent visit was for an oil change and check up. I was a bit embarrassed that the windows were so dirty with bird droppings and planned to get the car washed afterwards. The car was ready promptly and when I got in to drive off, the windows were clean and the inside vacuumed spic and span! I was so pleased.

I came to Model Garage for the first time last week. Thanks to Felix and Eduardo for your excellent communication on this visit. I finally found an alternative to the local dealership. I was confident about the service after the computer was used to determine what work was due. I couldn’t believe that my car was ready so quickly. The price seemed very fair. I now have peace of mind. I will be back. Thanks!

Received extraordinary customer service from Ernesto Metro. My 20 year old Subaru Forester was in rough shape but The Model Garage was willing and able to find the parts and do the labor to get my car up and running safely. I will definitely be back!

I've been a customer at Model Garage for more than 25 years and I don't know of a better and more experienced team to handle the maintenance of my car. As a matter of fact I only buy cars that they maintain. Model Garage is an honest business that won't encourage you to pay for something you don't need. I’m happy that my car is cared for by Model Garage.
