Model Garage is an excellent model of both customer service and car repair. Both Doreen and Shelby are welcoming, accommodating, and plain ole nice. And, Robert and his team are committed to correct whatever the problem to customer satisfaction. Couldn't expect more, a rare find today.

Model Garage has been servicing our vehicles for over 45 years! We have had a number of Volvos and our present Toyoto Avalon cared for by them. It is worth the time and gas to drive from Richmond to Berkeley for their excellent care.

Ordinary sustained excellence

Model is the paragon of Volvo maintenance shops. To begin, my 82,000 mile service was thorough and expertly accomplished. Second, at that point, Robert recommended (due to the age of the car, a 2011 XC70 T6 — actually 12 years old), I should, for the sake of preventive maintenance, so as not to get stuck on the road unexpectedly, replace the main drive belt and, since the path inside the engine compartment would be clear in that process, also replace the water pump and associated parts. As it turned out — even though the car has been driving well, with no apparent problems, the water pump appeared to be on its last legs, the thermostat was entirely shot, and the drive belt exhibited signs of stiffening and brittleness. Thanks to Robert for his wise counsel and to the In-house Volvo specialist for his skillful work.
